今週のジョーク「落ちましたよ！」(The Blonde and the Trucker)
A trucker stops for red light and a blonde girl catches up.
あるトラック運転手が赤信号で止まると、金髪の女の子が追いかけてきました。
She knocks on the door and the trucker lowers the window. The girl says, “Hi, my name is Kelly, and you are losing some of your load.”
彼女がドアを叩くと、トラック運転者は窓をあけました。女の子は、「こんにちは、私はケリー。いくつかの積荷が落としましたよ」と言います。
The trucker ignores her and proceeds down the street.
運転手は彼女を無視して、そのまま道を下りました。
The trucker stops for another red light and the girl again catches up. She knocks on the door and the trucker lowers the window and she says, “Hi my name is Kelly, and you are losing some of your load!”
トラック運転手は別の赤信号で止まりました。すると、また女の子が追いかけてきました。彼女はドアを叩くと、トラック運転手は窓を下げ、彼女は「こんにちは。私はケリーです。いくつかの積荷を落としましたよ」と言いました。
He ignores her again and continues down the street.
彼は彼女を無視すると、道を下り続けます。
The trucker stops for still another red light and the girl catches up again all out of breath. She knocks on the door and the trucker lowers the window. Again, she says “Hi, my name is Kelly, and you are losing some of your load!”
トラック運転手はまた他の赤信号で止まると、女の子はまた追いかけてきて、息を切らし、ドアをノックします。トラック運転手はドアを開きます。そうすると、また彼女は「こんにちは。私の名前はケリー。いくつかの積荷を落としていますよ！」
He dismisses her and starts off down the street, then stops. The trucker gets out of the truck, approaches the blonde girl, and says: “Hi, my name is Andy, and I am driving a SALT TRUCK!”
彼は彼女を相手にせず、そのまま道をくだります。トラック運転手はトラックから出ると、その金髪の女の子にこういいました。「やあ、名前はアンディー。俺は”塩撒きトラック”を運転しているんだよ！」

ずいぶん無視して、最初は女の子にからかわれていると思ったのでしょうね。salt truck / gritter は塩と砂利を混ぜたものを雪の降った道に散布します。塩は融点を低くするので、雪を溶かし、またその後も凍結しにくくさせます。昔は人がシャベルを使って撒いたそうですが、今では荷台から自動的にばら撒かれます。
