■今週のジョーク「化けて出るだって？」(The Happy Couple)
An old man and woman were married for years even though they hated each other.
年配の夫婦は互いに憎み合いながら、長い結婚生活を送っていました。
When they had a confrontation, screams and yelling could be heard deep into the night.
彼らがケンカをした時は、叫び声や怒鳴り合いが夜更けまで聞こえてきました。
A constant statement was heard by the neighbors who feared the man the most: “When I die, I will dig my way up out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!”
隣人たちが聞いた中で、1番恐れた夫のセリフは、「私が死んだら、お墓から外へ抜ける道を堀って、戻ってきてやる。そして、お前が生きている間、ずっと化けてでてやるからな！」でした。
They believed he practiced black magic and was responsible for missing cats and dogs. There were also strange sounds at all hours.
隣人たちは、彼が黒魔術を実行し、それが原因で猫や犬が行方不明になったと信じていました。それに、いつ何時も奇妙な音が聞こえました。
The man was feared and enjoyed the respect it garnished.
その男は隣人たちから恐れられ、男は恐れられるのを楽しみました。
One day, he died abruptly under strange circumstances, and the funeral had a closed casket.
ある日、その男が変な状況の下で突然亡くなり、葬式は閉ざされた館の中で行われました。
After the burial, his wife went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there was no tomorrow.
埋葬後、妻はまっすぐ地元のバーに向かい、どんちゃん騒ぎのパーティーを開始しました。
The gaiety of her actions were becoming extreme while her neighbors approached in a group to ask these questions: “Are you not afraid? Concerned? Worried? This man practiced black magic and stated that when he died, he would dig his way up out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life?”
隣人たちが彼女に近づき、こう尋ねたときに、彼女の陽気な行動は大胆になりました。
「あなたは怖くないのですか？心配はしていないの？不安ではないのですか？あなたの夫は黒魔術を行っていました。彼が死んだ時には、お墓から外へ抜ける道を堀って戻り、お前が生きている間、化けてでてやる！と言っていたんですよ」。
The wife put down her drink and said, “Let the old guy dig. I had him buried upside down.”
妻は飲みかけのお酒を置いて、こう言いました。「じゃあ、ジジイに掘らせてやろうじゃないの。私はアイツを逆さまにして埋めたけどね」

掘らせますね。地上に出るまでに「(地球の直径)－(墓の深さ)」という距離を掘ることになります。
